Rawdons Hotel was built in 1956 by David Rawdon and was taken over by the Attwood family in 1967. The current owners, Don and Wendy Attwood, have handed the hotel over to their daughter Susan and husband, Peter Dean. Rawdons Hotel is a welcome retreat for tourists and weekenders offering splendid a la Carte, Table d’Hote and pub menus. The comfortable rooms are decorated with antiques that the family have collected over the years and one can choose from a number of suites including a romantic honeymoon hideaway. A top fly fishing destination, Rawdons boasts 7 stocked dams on the 200 ha estate. The hotel also offers lawn tennis and quiet walking trails around the property for those not interested in fishing. A thriving independent brewery delights visitors with a range of naturally brewed ales and lagers of outstanding quality. These brews can be enjoyed in the famous Rawdons pub, “The Boar” where, in winter, the fire crackles with warm welcoming hospitality.

Rawdons hotel is set on 80 acres in the heart of the Natal Midlands.

This is the ideal venue for companies needing to give their delegates a chance to interact both in and out of the conference room. Our highly acclaimed table will see to your nourishment and the lawn tennis courts, swimming pool, rainbow trout dams and walks etc will see to your recreation.

We are situated an easy 4 and a half hours drive from Johannesburg and a hour and a half from Durban.

Try one of our beers brewed on the property, Tiddly Toad, Pickled Pig, Pye Eyed Possum and Whistling Weasel. We'll change your taste for beer for life.

TRAVEL FROM JOHANNESBURG (N3) Travel south bound on the N3 freeway and take the Nottingham Road Interchange to your left and travel through to Nottingham Road. Rawdons is situated on the R103 on the right a few hundred metres out of Nottingham Road travelling south bound towards Lion river. TRAVEL FROM DURBAN: (N3 & R103) Travel north bound on the N3 Freeway, take the Nottingham Road Interchange to the left and travel through to Nottingham Road. Rawdons is situated on the R103 on the right a few hundred metres out of Nottingham Road travelling south bound towards Lion river. OR Travel north bound on the R103 from the Howick interchange past Michealhouse School. Rawdons is on your left hand side.
