Shonalanga offers Up Market self-catering chalets set in the beautiful foot hills of the Drakensberg. Situated on the banks of the Big Mooi 12kms from Mooi River on the Old Durban Road.

Six luxury, fully furnished cottages, overlooking the scenic Mooi River, with approximately 1km frontage. We are conveniently situated on the Midlands Meander, close to the N3 Freeway with easy access to Restaurants, pubs, golf courses, private schools and the Drakensberg.
Take the D146 off the Nottingham Road near Rosetta.

Ideally situated in the heart of the Midlands there is so much to see and do. You can tour the famous Midlands Meander or visit the Drakensberg Mountains, fish in our own Mooi River, do bird watching, enjoy short walks or picnic on the property, Visit the Weenen Game Reserve or just relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Chalets 1 and 3 have Master Bedroom-Double bed, Second bedroom-Bunk sleeps 2, third bedroom-single bed, single bathroom, separate toilet, lounge with open plan kitchen and single car port.

Chalets 2 and 4 have Master Bedroom-Double bed, Second bedroom-Bunk sleeps 2, single bathroom in chalet 2 and shower in chalet 4, separate toilet, lounge with open plan kitchen and single car port.

Kitchens are open plan with centrally situated Breakfast "Nook". Comfortable and spacious.

Chalet 5 has a Master bedroom with double bed, bathroom with bath and toilet, lounge, dining room,kitchen, deck and braai.

Chalet 6 has a Master bedroom with double bed, second room has double bed, third room has double bed and fourth room has a single bed, seperate toilet, bath, large lounge with fireplace, dining room, large kitchen, balcony and own braai and garden.

Rates

Peak season (Jan to April and September to December) R200 per person per night incl.

Low Season (May to August) R180 per person per night incl.

Children under twelve pay half price.

Directions

Situated 12 kms from Mooi River town, going towards Durban, take the D146 off the R103, Nottingham Road. The R103 and side roads are officially signposted. Directions from Durban:- Distance is approximately 150kms from Durban, traveling towards Johannesburg. After Pietermaritzburg, pass Howick and about 20kms past Howick look for the Nottingham Road oframp R103. Take off ramp and at the top of off ramp there is a T junction, turn right. Travel for approximately 10kms, pass the Nottingham Road Hotel, at 4way stop turn right, go under a bridge, and keep right.(still R103) travel for approximately 8kms and just before you come into Rosetta you will see big brown street signs showing SHONALANGA. Turn left onto a dirt road D146, keep left for approximately 2kms. Your will see the cottages and river on the right hand side. You will also see the Shonalanga Road sing at the main gate. You can open the gates and enter.
